Rodney Celis (b. 1966)

was a self-driven music enthusiast whose passion, knowledge and experience culminated in his most beloved project: B’itz.

Based in Guatemala and also known as a walking archive of musical history, Rodney began his journey working for Dideca (a vinyl format production company) and continued his love for music in many ways such as a radio personality for a station called “El Lado B” to later transforming his passion and dreams into co-owning La Soon and Studio Laser, beloved and well-known record stores in the country.

On the side, Rodney began curating playlists for people who trusted his expertise and taste to expand their own musical experience. His charisma and approach to music captured the attention of many as he undertook full time the role of a music curator.

From individual clients to working for stablished brands in Guatemala, Rodney paved his way into demonstrating how music has an impact in everything and that it’s involvement is key to an overall unforgettable experience.

In 2021, as a way to honor Rodney’s love for music and to carry on with his legacy, his two daughters embraced his latest work B’itz and continue growing the project, evolving but maintaining always its main goal and essence: to live for and through music.
